The Boulders at Beekman

Overview

The Boulders at Beekman, nestled in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, offers 155 thoughtfully designed residences across 12 buildings with premier access to the surrounding natural environment. Atlantic Reality Development Corporation partnered with ReVireo to provide energy code compliance services, ensuring all buildings met the duct and envelope leakage testing requirements under New Jersey energy code.

The Boulders at Beekman project was originally designed under the 2018 Energy Code; however, the final building transitioned to the more stringent 2021 Energy Code requirements.

ReVireo partnered with Atlantic Reality Development Corporation to successfully navigate these heightened standards and complete the final building. ReVireo delivered comprehensive air-sealing training focused on building envelope leakage testing, as well as early-stage diagnostic testing to support compliance with duct leakage requirements.

During on-site training and construction exercises, ReVireo identified critical air-sealing opportunities at the rough construction stage, mitigating risk and ensuring a successful outcome during final testing. Despite the challenges posed by stricter leakage thresholds, this collaborative approach enabled the project team to develop effective solutions and achieve passing results.

The lessons learned during this transition equipped Atlantic Reality Development Corporation with the execution strategies and hands-on training needed to successfully close out this project and confidently apply the 2021 Energy Code requirements on future developments.
