Reid Apartments and Park Rock are part of NYC Housing Authority’s Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program, which renovates aging public housing by partnering with private development teams while preserving long-term affordability. The project included 89 buildings across 15 sites in Brooklyn, ranging from 2–20 stories and totaling 1,698 units. As part of this redevelopment, the team pursued Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) certification with NYC Overlay to enhance energy performance and sustainability across the portfolio.
ReVireo provided full-service support for EGC Criteria 5.1b, creating 16 detailed energy models following ASHRAE 90.1-2013 Appendix G requirements. The modeling assessed existing conditions, proposed upgrades, and compliance strategies across the diverse building stock, helping the project team optimize design decisions and meet EGC energy prerequisites efficiently.
During construction, ReVireo conducted blower door testing to verify envelope improvements and guide air sealing efforts. Our testing identified priority leakage areas, supported construction quality, and provided measurable gains in building performance, including enhanced resident comfort and reduced energy use.
Through comprehensive modeling and field verification, ReVireo enabled KO2 Consulting to successfully pursue EGC certification with NYC Overlay across this complex portfolio. Our services ensured clear design guidance, construction quality assurance, and verified performance, helping the project achieve sustainability goals and deliver long-term energy efficiency benefits for NYCHA residents.
