Overview

PHNX Development Partners, a local affordable housing development firm specializing in volumetric modular construction, partnered with ReVireo on their recent project in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The project consisted of three duplexes designed and constructed to meet the NJ 2021 Energy Code by utilizing ENERGY STAR certification.

To ensure the project successfully met its goal of ENERGY STAR certification, ReVireo partnered with PHNX Development Partners early on in the design process. ReVireo performed strategic preliminary energy modeling to analyze the trade-offs between different insulation specifications and equipment efficiencies, cross referencing proposed upgrades with available incentives. ReVireo ensured compliance by collaborating with an onsite HERS Rater at the modular factory to verify that all design specifications and ENERGY STAR requirements were strictly followed. ReVireo also conducted post-installation inspections once the modular units were set. Throughout the process, ReVireo managed the application for rebates from the New Jersey Clean Energy Program, securing PHNX Development Partners over $10,000. As a result of PHNX Development Partners’ commitment, new homeowners will benefit from reduced operating costs and improved occupant comfort and health afforded by the energy-efficient construction.
