Building Energy Specialist

ReVireo is an energy code compliance and green building services company. We provide a range of consulting and inspection services to builders and developers on residential new construction projects.

ReVireo is looking for an individual to fill the full–time position of Building Energy Specialist. This individual will be responsible for performing tasks related to commissioning, energy modeling,
energy auditing, and benchmarking services for various construction types and project teams.

The Building Energy Specialist will work closely with ReVireo’s Project Managers and Building Consultants to provide clients with actionable recommendations that will inform the design and construction process of sustainable buildings.

Perform the following tasks to improve building energy performance, energy code compliance, and building certification programs such as LEED and ENERGY STAR.

• Commissioning related tasks, including:
  • Conduct design reviews
  • Create commissioning plans
  • Create check sheets
  • Perform site inspections
  • Create commissioning reports
  • Compile training documentation
• Coordinate with energy modelers, review energy modeling results, and create energy modeling reports
• Conduct inspections and perform calculations necessary to determine energy savings measures for energy audits and create reports
• Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems and create reports
• Complete benchmarking of existing building utility data in EPA Portfolio Manager

• Undergraduate degree in a related engineering field preferred
• Understanding of HVAC, building envelope, and building science preferred
• Strong interest in green building and improving the built environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to juggle tasks well and willingness to take on many different assignments
• Competency with Microsoft Excel and using formulas within Microsoft Excel

• Salary starting not less than $60,000 and negotiable, commensurate with experience and qualifications; re–evaluated annually based on performance
